Well I have the answer to this mystery. . .

Researchers adopted polishing technology used in the semiconductor industry (chemical mechanical planarization) to polish the surface of human teeth down to nanoscale roughness. Roughness left on the tooth after the polishing is just a few nanometers, which is one-billionth of a meter or about 100,000 times smaller than a grain of sand.

Sokolov and Gaikwad showed that teeth polished in this way become too “slippery” for the “bad” bacteria that is responsible for the destruction of dental enamel. As a result the bacteria can be removed fairly easily before they cause damage to the enamel.

Yes we’re all going to die, nano-particles are going to destroy all life including bacteria.

That is of course until it comes ‘barfing’ onto shore and/or kills off a major part of the circle of life.

So, what comes to mind here is ways to eliminate the use or over-usage of plastic.

We’ve all seen these suggestions before but come on people, this is serious.

Here are a few things I’m going to do.

Ways to lower your use of plastic products -

- Purchase beverages, including milk bottled with glass, aluminum or paper.
- Don’t use the plastic baggies they offer when you’re checking out at the store, bring your own re-usable bag or just carry stuff out in a buggy
- Get purchased items such as meat, veggies etc wrapped with wax paper or paper or use re-usable containers
- Do not use plastic forks, plates or cups – use glass, paper or ceramic
- Take your meals in re-usable tupper wear and wash it out, don’t throw it away
- Be concious; when you come across something that is not recyclable or biodegradable, think of an alternate or a different approach

The streams of data networks aren’t so tangible and … of course they had to come up with something to quench that consumerist fist filling needs.

Pretty neat stuff if you ask me! Maybe they’ll start putting the classics in bubble gum machines?

Don’t upgrade your CABLE, hell don’t even waste your time ordering it!

I will be able to use my existing setup (Computer connected to my 52″ TV).

I will purchase a ‘Sling Box’ and connect it to my Mom’s Cable Box(or anyone I trust not to tamper with the box) and Voila, I get the same Cable stations at my house that is 2 hours away.

The Slingbox utilizes Sling Media’s proprietary SlingPlayer to display audio and video on Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh running Mac OS X, and select mobile devices. SlingPlayer is not available for Linux, BSD or other open source systems. However the Windows version of SlingPlayer will run on open source systems via Wine. The latest SlingPlayer version for Windows is version 1.5 (technically 1.5.0.325). This version adds or improves support for specific audio/video devices.
