This smoky super insulator was developed by NASA for catching comet dust. In awe of it’s semi-transparent, eery look, it is a very pricey material at $160 for a less than 2x2x2 square. If you were to put a piece between your hand and a blow torch, you would not be able to feel the heat from the blow torch at all. Ive ran across this stuff on the beach from time to time, moreso on the NC coast a few inches from the water on the beach. However take a look at this from the Australian coast … Scientists say that due to impurities such as dead plants, too much salt, decomposing fish, etc. in the water massive foam was generated. This picture is taken in Sydney, Australia.
